Diane grew up in Michigan and began riding at the age of 14. She competed in western, english, dressage and jumping in 4-H and local horse shows. She gave lessons and trained various horses until she was 22 years old, when she decided to focus on dressage. Her desire was to learn everything she could about the sport.
In order to improve her riding and gain a solid training foundation, Diane spent many years working for and training extensively with many FEI trainers throughout the United States and Europe, including Betsy Steiner, Ashley Holzer and, most recently, Heather Blitz. In 2006, she took several of her horses to Germany and spent six months riding with olympic coach Conrad Schumacher. She received daily coaching and instruction from Mr. Schumacher, and gained valuable knowledge about his training system that she has incorporated into her own.
Diane began importing and selling dressage horses in 2002, shortly after relocating to the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area. Diane enjoys helping people find their future equine partner, and has since developed a wide range of valuable contacts in Europe who regularly help find and import horses. Her contacts also help locate the right horse for a particular rider.
Diane currently resides in Riegelsville, PA, where she maintains an active dressage teaching, training and sales business. She currently gives dressage instruction and training, beginner through FEI, in both Bucks and Hunterdon Counties. Some of the areas to which she regularly travels to teach in Pennsylvania include: Quakertown , Ottsville, Coopersburg, Stroudsburg, Saylorsburg, Newtown, and Kintnersville. Areas in New Jersey include: Clinton, Frenchtown, Califon, Oldwick, Flemington, Pittstown, Bedminster, Chester and Far Hills. She travels regularly to Farmingdale, New Jersey two days per week. She travels to Long Island on a semi-monthly basis to teach.
Diane has competed through the FEI levels of dressage with various horses, and has earned USDF bronze and silver medals. She is a Certified Instructor for the United States Dressage Federation and the American Riding Instructor Association. Additionally, she is a USDF Judges L Program Graduate.
